Scroll down for information about George and his work.
George Vukson was born in 1954. He studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin. In 1979 he traveled north to pursue his two interests, wildlife and art. Today he combines these two interests, spending winters carving materials unique to the north – fossil whale bone, moose antler, sheep horn and fossil walrus and mammoth ivories. In the fall he is a hunting guide in the Wrangell Mountains. He lives in Wasilla with his wife.
