Laura works with beads sewn on fabric, making small brooches, miniature kayaks, and wall hangings. She also makes watercolor and acrylic paintings, notecards and prints, oil pastels, and block prints on fabric for quilting.
Laura teaches art to kids in the elementary school through the Artists in the Schools program, and for Discovery Week at the middle school. Laura teaches after school art classes to kids through the Sitka Fine Arts Camp after school program. She has created two colorings book for kids: Coastal Alaska, and a Bear coloring book. Every year Laura makes and models a piece for the Sitka Wearable Arts Show. She has lived in Alaska for 26 years, in Sitka for 14, and also does tours in the summer season, leading guests hiking, biking, and birding.
