Pete was born in Ketchikan when Alaska was still a territory. He is of Tlingit, Tsimshian and Filipino descent. Pete was educated in the “lower 48” and has been a teacher of the deaf, a college administrator, a commercial and subsistence fisherman and a salmon aquaculturist. He is a completely self-taught silver and gold smith, carver, lapidary and gem cutter.
