Amethyst cab finely wrapped in argentium sterling silver wire.
The pendant measures 2" long.
A little about Amethyst: Amethyst is the purple variety of the mineral Quartz and its most famous and valuable gem variety. The color of Amethyst is most often caused by iron impurities, though it can be colored by natural radiation exposure. Amethyst is also known as the February birth month stone.
A little about the wire used: Argentium sterling contains less copper than standard sterling silver. It was developed specifically to combat the tarnish that occurs as a result of oxidization and it is more hypo-allergenic than traditional sterling silver.
