Ammolite Pendant (#124)
Ammolite cab finely wrapped in Argentium Sterling Silver wire.
The pendant measures 1 3/4" long.
A little about Ammolite: Ammolite is found in Canada and is the mineralized shell of a ammonite (over 65-70 million years old). Although fossilized ammonites are found all over the world, supplies of the colorful iridescent gem quality ammolite are found only in southern Alberta, Canada. Only about 5% yields gemstone quality material. Ammolite is one of the rarest gem materials in the world.
A little about the wire used: Argentium sterling contains less copper than standard sterling silver. It was developed specifically to combat the tarnish that occurs as a result of oxidization and it is more hypo-allergenic than traditional sterling silver.
