Tommy Joseph (Naal xak’w) was born in Ketchikan Alaska in 1964. He is Eagle Wolf of the Kaagwaantaan Clan. He is a woodcarver and works as an instructor, interpreter, commissioned artist and wood conservator. His work includes a wide range of artwork including totem poles, house posts, bentwood boxes, masks, design, armor, and “at.oow”. He has work in museums and public and private collections all over the world, including Carnegie Museum, Alaska State Museum, Anchorage Museum, Dept. of Interior, Dept. of Treasure, to name a few. Tommy was a recipient of a USA Artist Fellows Award in 2007 and a Rasmuson Project Award in 2012. He can be found in numerous film and journalistic publications.
